Yesterday I watched Ice Age 3 it’s really smart, clear and funny but what I liked the most was (as on the 2 movies before), Scrat’s nut. The best part of the 3 pictures have been Scrat chasing the nut, running, jumping, fighting to get the nut.
The nut is a big dream for Scrat, is his goal and only objective thorough all the story, that makes me think everyone have a nut like these, an objective we think is the biggest in life and fight and fight everyday to get it. Sometimes we are so focused on the “nut” that forget about enjoying all the chase, about enjoying life and all the people around us.
Everyone has a different nut, the objective we think is the biggest or the best but really it isn’t. For many years the nut for me was the school, my lessons, until I got my grade. Then it seemed I couldn´t find any nut to chase and life has turned bored. Now I have another nut buy I realized that is not the nut what I want to chase, is something even bigger and deeper as Scrat, it is called love.
The nut behind the nut for Scrat was love, he realized that all these time chasing he was looking for something else. When he found Scratte he realized the nut was not the reason. Scratte is fast, tricky and determined (so do I) and that makes her the perfect complement for Scrat, better half: love.
Sometimes we are so crazy that when we found the nut behind the nut we take a serial of bad decisions and loose it. As the song says: “human after all”, it appears our dark side, where ambition and egoism go back to chase the nut forgetting the nut behind the nut. All my personal hurts were caused not by love, but by this dark side that appears sometimes and confuse everything around. The true fight everyday is to know more ourselves, to learn from this dark side and how to level it with love and it the end we can answer: Who is more powerful? The nut, or the nut behind the nut?
